Tools of the Trade
This is a series of illustrations that I did while experimenting with gradient meshes and texture in Adobe Illustrator. I’ve been involved in the outdoor-sporting industry in some form throughout nearly my entire career. Often the aesthetic in that world is plagued by a pseudo-militaristic influence, along with cliché visuals like flaming skulls and barbed wire. I wanted to make something that spoke to the depth of the conscious outdoors-persons sporting experience. Navigating complicated internal conflict, resolve, perseverance, responsibility, and death.
